Oh my goodness. This is a silent video showing what happens when someone hits you from behind. (or what happens to the brain). I was hit from behind, and from the back passenger and front passenger side. It was referred to as “the shaken baby syndrome”. What is more interesting, is the PT Therapist I’m working with who is an expert in TBI, has told me these things of the twisting, and it actually causes the spinal cord to twist just a tad, but enough to cause so many problems. She has done miracles for me in the past few weeks. Someday, I’m going to be a normal person again (watch out! ha) It is better to see it coming as when you brace yourself, it helps. (contrary to what we used to know). The muscles you will see in the front and the back were torn – which takes forever to heal. Leaning to swallow, etc… felt like being a baby again. Since the brain was bruised in so many areas, every ability was affected. It’s like living in a different country and knowing the basic language of a young child. You learn to wear a mask, and try to act like you are intelligent. It’s exhausting! ha

I understand – with this video – what brain shearing is…. at the 1.07 minute the description begins.  Thus…what ever happens… more seizures, more TIA’s, more anything, is NOT GOOD.  This doesn’t heal.

Brain Injury is a tragedy.  To the patient, to their families.  Woe to the families that do not understand, research to learn, go to doctor appoints….  For your family will fall apart.  Read how to keep things together before they get to far gone.  This is an encouragement, not a gloom and doom.  There are happy endings, but you must search for them, and be willing for the happy ending that is given to you. great website.

  1. Hey Cathy.. Ya this was hard to watch for me.. I am a bit angry right now, so often I have wondered “WHAT”S WRONG with me?” and the world has forced me and demands the mask be worn at all times! And if not I stand to lose even the place I pretend to have in this wicked world. The Mask is that I am FINE and there is nothing wrong even when I want to crawl up onto someones lap and have them just hold me and never let me go again. Funny thing is no one want to care anymore because if you care it is costly and not many have the guts to pay the price. Yeah I’m sorry I can rant pretty good these days but I’ve been scared and alone for so long now that there is no way anyone is getting past my mask its a perminant fixture. I especially hold the spear point out for the pretentious Christians, My former Pentecostal ‘prophetic, healing church, who were blind to my illness and needs for close to 10 years, and when I fell they let me fall ‘alone’ Nice bunch they all are… Jesus said go raise the dead heal the sick give sight to the blind, they say Give and we will build you a bigger church with a latte bar. Phew I guess I shouldn’t vent on your blog just delete it if you want … God bless Cathy

    1. Nope, I approved this post! I understand, and so do many in this situation. Have you seen these two sites: and ? Invisible Illness (Invisible No More) is on You Tube, and I think you will see your story played out! Also, I think I mentioned a book by Kimberly Rae, it’s a small booklet and fabulous. I will wear it out, just as I’ve worn out “But You Look Good” from Invisible Illness group. You need support, and I am amazed at all you do. Your children are very fortunate. Don’t become jaded, this is what Jesus experienced, and Paul counted it for good to understand better His suffering. I find listening to Job on in a simple version to be most comforting. To hear a man like Job say what we say, and think what we think, and have the same things happen that he had happen to him – his miserable comforters, it’s as if we are reading someone’s story today. Nothing out of date! Good advice, but for the wrong person. They were a comfort when they came to visit and to grieve in quietness and care for him. More later! Hold on, there is more out there than you can ever realize. Hope has held you this far, and it will hold you still. Thanks for replying.

      1. LOL I was reading Job this morning, and i remembered what he said to his comforters, Job 12:2 nkjv, “Doubtless ‘you’ are the people, and wisdom will die with you!!!!!”

I have several posts on my blog about being invisible its funny because it is way too true. I know I need some one in my life but that’s impossible because people are people no matter where you find them, and I just don’t fit in, I really never have. In reading Job and 2nd Corinthians this morning I get an ever clearer view of my own heart and see the main reason for my loneliness, it’s not that I am ill not have had brain injuries, it’s because I am very different in so many ways. Cathy I feel like a small child inside one who just wants to be loved and cared for, one who needs somebody to say its okay even when its a lie.. With God its not a lie and he is the one who says its okay, even when we know that its not.
I deleted my subscription to sermons audio yesterday, honestly I can’t cope with most mens preaching – there is so little out there that is solid and without sectic dogma that I find myself turning them off wanting to hear some one preach the Word without personal excuse, or agenda. I looked at the invisible disabilities blog yesterday, but Cathy I need a human friend… I have had many years of electronic friends and there is not much for reality online— so Its okay! 🙂 God is faithful I will be fine, and one day, one day 🙂 one day.

May he bless you wonderously my friend

        1. How funny, I was reading Job last night and thinking…. ” I have read his blog and can’t remember if he said he has read Job”! Lol. (Thanks to TBI). But I couldn’t imagine you NOT reading it. I spoke with my husband of your situation, and it grieved us both. It lead me to pray desperately for you. I agree 100%…. You must have a human friend. The sites are only to encourage if there is some way the can. You are not forgotten.

            1. Yes, God knows EXACTLY where you are at, and He also puts people in our life that can encourage us and help us over a hump. I’m thankful for people like that, who were kind enough to SEE the REAL picture. We don’t worry, we are just sad when we hear of this happening. We are very aware of how it feels….

            2. I’ll have to say you must be needing something to naw at, or chew on! lol. Or else, one of your children is standing behind you with gum!

            3. Dear Friend:
I have thought of you today, as we enjoyed our little gathering to share what has spoken to us in our reading and meditating this week. These are somethings I have enjoyed going over, after reading your many interesting and very true posts. There is a treasure hid in a field….. and it is a beautiful treasure. What a joy when finding those who are seeking after this same treasure.
If there is another way we can communicate with you, and you would like too, let us know. I have to approve posts, so if you have to, also, then we can still communicate behind the scenes, if you prefer.

This is not intended to preach, I’ve just taken this afternoon and gone over what I love to go over… the simplicity of the Gospel. Yet such a miracle.
Thinking of the simple Doctrine Jesus taught that he has never changed. Maybe you will enjoy searching these things out for yourself. No offense, as I am well aware you are very conscience of these things. Please excuse any typo’s or errors, I’m a bit sleepy and having a FM flare.
Matt. 5, 6 & 7, Jesus Sermon on the Mount. What he expects to see in His people. What will be the fruit of His people will be:
( And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:
Be the Salt of the Earth
Christ Fulfills the Law. (Christ came to fulfill and show how to be as a young person (obedient to parents), as a working man (honest, upright) and as a minister (foxes have holes, the birds have nest, I have no where to lay my head, ….)
Go the second mile. The first mile is expected by all, but the second is expected by those that love God, His chidren.
Do Good to Please God? Takes humility!
Fasting that is Godly. Not fasting so that others can see, like hypocrites. Fasting from self, and our Father who see’s is in secret will reward you openly.
Laying up Treasures in Heaven. Where ever your treasure is, there is where your heart will be, also. What comes from our life shows God, others and ourselves, who we are truly serving.
Do Not Worry! (worry is simply a lack of faith) Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? …. Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
Do Not Judge Another “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
(although in another part, we are told to have “righteous judgement” – NOT self-righteous judgement. If we seem something wrong, we can admit it is wrong and vow to keep it from entering in our hearts. Some judgement is needed, but not to putting someone on the judgment seat) Jesus gave good examples of how those things are handled.)
Ask, seek and knock. Whever we wish, we can have, as long as it brings us closer to God, and more like his son.
Narrow Way or Wide Way: “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Are we looking for a “church” to suit our lifestyle? Or are we looking for a God who will change our lifestyle? Going the narrow way is a lifestyle that IS NOT popular. And FEW will find it. One place says “As in the days of Noah, few… Not many will choose the lifestle of the COMPLETE life of Jesus. Some of his life, that’s fine…. but not all. “Surely God didn’t mean for us to do THAT in today’s world, it’s impossible”.
“Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.” “With God nothing is impossible”. Noah’s lifestyle would not have been interesting. Working to make a living and chopping down a tree to do daily work on the ark. An ark that seemed pointless.
You will know them by their fruits. A barameter is given, so we will know who is from God, and of God, by the fruit from their life. Is there love like the love of Jesus? Are they peaceful and quiet, yet joyful and happy? Are they fulfilling the conditions mentioned in these 3 chapters? Do the ministers resemble the minister that Jesus put together? Does their way of worship fit how Jesus asked to be worshipped? Is the overall countenance “Christ Like”? (Rev, 1-3 There will not be perfection, but there should be striving to put self behind and uplifting of Jesus) Fruit has a “smell and taste that is unexplainable”. Is there something of their spirit that is sweet, beautiful, yet unexplainable? Maybe it the Chicklets ! 🙂 lol

Words count but ACTIONS count more! Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord,” shall enter in the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Where is their foundation? Rock or Sand? Hope in their “retirement fund”, in natural things? Hope in anything OTHER than the ROCK of Jesus is building on the sand, and will fall.
2 Cor 15 felt? No LOVE, No God. Simple. We can be the best, brightest, most giving, most sacrificing, most serving, most joyful, most kingdom minded, but a lack of Love… ALL is in vain. LOVE was the Most important barameter God could give us. He showed us love that is far beyond what we can imagine. Allowing his son, innocent and pure, to die for sins that WE should be responsible for. That is the ultimate love.
What is the feeling of Love? No love, No God, No eternity. Period. Human love stops at the 1st mile, but a devine love goes the 2nd, and 3rd, etc…. Devine love comes ONLY if we have the devine love of our Father and Jesus in our hearts. Simple.

There will not be perfect people, but a sincere people. All wanting that common goal.
Matthew 26:40-42 Paul mentions the flesh is weak, but the Spirit is willing.
How was the gospel to be spread? How did he train his first 12, then 70? Jesus was very detailed oriented. (think of the arks “blueprint”!). Part of our faith is believing and doing what he taught in how and where to worship, and how the “preachers” should go forth to give their all. Never was their a clause that said “if this gets too hard, feel free to change it”. Or “If this makes you uncomfortable, and feeling to lowly and belittled, please, lift up your ego”. “A WAY is spoken of when speaking of following Jesus. “WAYS” are mentioned in how men follow Jesus. If we are following Jesus, don’t we have to go the same route he took? There is no way to get around this, no matter what the argument is. The bible does not leave this to question.
The terms were not negotiable. It was a life long calling, (barring something that would hinder physically). There were two callings… to be a saint or servant. Jesus didn’t wait until someone was dead to call them a saint.
Jesus’ ministry required much mobility on it’s part.
Jesus’ motivation was COMPASSION: Jesus knew that people needed what he brought them, he came for our good, not his own (Jn 3:16-7). It is to our own hurt when we do not serve the Lord (Jer 2:13; Hos 7:1, 13; 13:9), and it hurts him because it hurts us. We can approach him with our needs precisely because we know how much he cares for us.

When lacking God-appointed leaders, God’s people in the Hebrew Bible often appear as sheep without a shepherd (Num 27:17; 1 Kings 22:17; 2 Chron 18:16), inviting the compassionate Lord to shepherd his people himself (Ezek 34:11-16), including feeding them (Ezek 34:2-3; Mt 14:19-20), healing them (Ezek 34:4; Mt 9:35; compare harassed in 9:36, literally “torn”) and bringing the lost sheep back (Ezek 34:4-6; Mt 18:12-14). This implies that the religious leaders of Israel who purported to be their shepherds had failed to obey God’s commission (Ezek 34:2-10; Mt 23). The disciples will carry on Jesus’ mission to these sheep (10:6).
As in the Old Testament, healing/spared from suffering was not always done and not always meant there was sin. (Job, Joseph , Paul (thorn and being in prison), but was also used to show His Grace was sufficient for us. Faith and Prayer was necessary to restore someone who was sick – spiritually. And, interceeding could result in healing IF IT IS THE WILL OF GOD.
Jesus had no motive but to save. He knew his word was a divider, not always a binding. He didn’t come to do anything but to save His creation from a lost eternity, and however that had to be accomplished depending on our faith in Him.
On the other hand, if we have fellowhip with those that are like minded of Jesus, there is true fellowship. He didn’t go to the temple to have fellowship, but to teach. His fellowship was with his disicples in their homes, out in the mountain, etc….
Jesus said “Foxes have holes…. etc…” The rich man asked Jesus, “What do I have to be saved? I’ve done what you have asked in everything.” Jesus gave a calling, a condition. It left the man very sad. We don’t know if he was ever willing for the ultimate conditions and calling, but he would have been a sad man until he was willing.
God has a calling for each of us. To the Husband, To the Wife, To the Children, To the Servant. And to those who would be spreading his word of salvation. He never took this lightly. We should not take this lightly either. We have never made the ultimiate sacrifice to have any other say, that what Jesus said.

The ones that are most defensive, are the ones who are not meeting all of the conditions. They can’t see it, and feel that it was something for “then”. If so, does that mean our salvation was something for “then”? If it all doesn’t apply, then it doesn’t apply at all and salvation is compromised.
We can hold the traditions of men – go about doing what is supposed to be done, and never be saved. It hasn’t affected our hearts. It hasn’t touched our heart. Our heart has grown could. Or our hearts are searching for that simple Jesus.
We can act like one who loves Jesus, but “acting” is soon discovered. Our real love will always come out… Whether for the good of heaven or otherwise.
We can speak of our humility, our service, and all we do, but if we have to tell everyone that we are a Christian, then something is wrong. It shouldn’t have to be told, but felt. Beware, they are dishonest in all things. Genesis: God’s voice came “walking” in the garden. Does our life have His voice coming from it? Or are we just acting? When the show is over, we take off the actor clothes, and it’s over until the next show time. (or Sunday). If other’s question our service because they want to “see” it openly, beware. Pride draws pride out in another. If they want us to announce all we do, beware. If they can’t see any love in us, then we need to beware!~
Where did Jesus find those who would follow him? Many places. Along the path he was walking, in the city, by the sea, and in the temple when he was teaching.
Where did Jesus have fellowship with those who followed him?
“Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.”
“Where do you want us to prepare for it?” they asked.
He replied, “As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he enters, and say to the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ He will show you a large room upstairs, all furnished. Make preparations there.
They left and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.
              1. They had to make preparations to EAT.
              2. Jesus already had a place prepared for them, although they had to do some preparing also.
              3. The man of the home seems fully aware of what was happening and the room was ready. “All Furnished” Make preparations there.
God’s children come together to feed on His word each week. To be strenghten and encouraged, and for some, they will hear correction.
              Ephesians 5:19
speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,
(15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of God.)
              Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
HEB. 10 19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, ** 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.)
(**no longer under the OT law, but a new and LIVING way) If we came together like this each time, we would have a wonderful, blossoming spiritual life. We can have it, even among turmoil, but this is how God intended it to be. This can only happen when we are submitting one to another, putting the other first, in a devine love.
That isn’t what our human nature wants.
              Colossians 3
12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
Not only was this for when meeting together, each week, but each time we saw our brother. “Love is the bond of PERFECTION.” God has a perfect way, but through LOVE, we see the PERFECTION in others, and less of their faults.
God is very HOME oriented. The home he choses is prepared. Those that come, must prepared also. Both sides have natural preparing and spiritual preparing to do. The home needed to be ready by the owner. Those coming had to prepare to feed. Fellowship is feeding one another Spiritual Bread to keep each other alive for the week ahead. It can be done anytime, anywhere, anyplace. But once a week, there was an appointed time for all. And communion was done to remind all, again and again, through out the week, of why we are able to come before Him – a Huge sacrifice. That was part of the fellowship that was at an appointed time.
(He was teaching his 12 at this point, but later we read of others doing the same).
Acts 1: He came back and comforted, taught, and reminded them the Holy Spirit would come to guide them.
              In Acts:
Choosing those who would take the place of Judas’ responsibility:
Chosing one who was willing to go into the ministry:
              Acts 1
18 (Now this man purchased a field with the wages of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his entrails gushed out. 19 And it became known to all those dwelling in Jerusalem; so that field is called in their own language, Akel Dama, that is, Field of Blood.)
20 “For it is written in the Book of Psalms:
‘Let his dwelling place be desolate,
And let no one live in it’
              ‘Let another take his office.’
21 “Therefore, of these men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, 22 beginning from the baptism of John to that day when He was taken up from us, one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection.”
23 And they proposed two: Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. 24 And they prayed and said, “You, O Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which of these two You have chosen 25 to take part in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.” 26 And they cast their lots, and the lot fell on Matthias. And he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
              Acts 2
              His People Grow
40 And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.” 41 Then those who gladly[g] received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. 42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. 44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 45 and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.
46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church[h] daily those who were being saved.
              Acts 20:7
              Ministering at Troas
7 Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight.
(Communion and fellowship in the Spirit)
              The Empty Tomb
20 Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.
First day of the week, A joyful promise had taken place…. The resurrection, and a promise that is ours today. We are ver forgetful, and need to remember each week, the life, death, and the ressurection of Jesus. Remember his life. Encouraging each others.
              Acts 20
              The Apostles Commissioned
19 Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.”
21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” 22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”
              Matthew 10 – instructions to the 12.
The respect and importance of his messengers: We are NOT to worship them, but to respect them.
A Cup of Cold Water Still speaking to the 12
40 “He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me. 41 He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. 42 And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.”
              Luke 10
The Seventy Sent Out (whole chapter)
10 After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.
Jesus never changed his way of thinking of how the gospel would go forth. This was a calling, and it was a high calling.
Paul gave many good instructions that reflect what Jesus taught for ministers and for those who were his people. SOUND DOCTRINE was of utmost importance. Not what SOUNDS right, but is SOUND before heaven.
              1 – 2 Timothy – Good instructions for ministers as a whole.
Titus – Good instructions for appointing leaders, and of Godliness in the home.

When ALL are subject to one another, loving each other, then there is perfect peace. There is love and all works well.
